Captain Yahaya bin Othman (Retired), a “Budak-Boy”, spent his early years as a military student at the Royal Military College RMC, Sungai Besi (1978-79).
Due to his academic excellence he was sponsored by the Ministry of Defense (MINDEF) to
further his study in Australia in 1980. Six years later he graduated from the University New
England (UNE), New South Wales in 1986 majoring in the field of Management Science
(Operational Research). Subsequently, he served the Malaysian Armed Forces upon his return
from abroad. He was commissioned into the Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD) in 1987; served
various key appointments at the 16th RAMD Battalion and in the early 1990, posted to the
MINDEF Infantry Directorate (15th Floor) as the SO3 Admin and Personnel at where he was
awarded the “Sijil Perkhidmatan Cemerlang” an award for top 5% civil servant of Malaysia
(1992-93) and accredited among others as the creator and champion of the digitalized
personnel database SMAI (Sistem Maklumat Anggota Infantri).
From 1993-94 Captain Yahaya represented the country at the United Nation’s Operation in
Mozambique (ONUMOZ), Africa, at where he served as the Chief Military Personnel Officer
of the Northern headquarters based in Nampula. He was retired from His Majesty’s Service
in September 1995, at the rank of Captain.
Captain Yahaya has wide experiences in personnel and project management; being a
Member of the conspicuous Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management (MIHRM).
To date he has secured and managed variety of projects that includes, human resources
management and maintenance projects with the KL Airport Services KLAS (a DRB-HICOM
Group of Companies) and for the Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) at the KLIA,
Sepang. He sponsors events organized by charitable organization such as the Red Crescent
Society of Malaysia and World Vision; continues in creating businesses that served for
betterment of humankind; proposes green technologies in treatment of water in rural areas
especially in the state of Sarawak. He has vested great interests in promoting health products
and wellness programs in which he strongly believes as the future of greater good for all.
